Earlier this morning, I wrote about AOC and her almost incomprehensibly stupid answer to a question posed to her at the Munich Security Conference about China and Taiwan.
Now, don't get me wrong. It is FUN to point and laugh at AOC and so many other brain-dead Democrats like her. This is Twitchy, after all. And, as I noted in another article I wrote this morning, I firmly believe that mockery, if used properly, can be a powerful force for good in the world. It was mockery and pointing out that the emperor had no clothes that was a major factor in ending the dominance of the trans death cult in America.
But for all of the laughs we have (and try to deliver) at Twitchy in pointing out that your average Democrat is about as sharp as a lump of Play-Doh, it is nice to listen once in a while to a serious politician who has serious points to make.
We were promised that with Biden, remember? They told us 'the adults were back in the room.' Of course, the only thing 'adult' about Uncle Joey is the diapers he wears. Which, not coincidentally, tend to get loaded with whatever he says every time he speaks.
Thankfully, the adults being back in the room is not a joke with the second Trump administration. We enjoy their trolling, of course, but make no mistake. Trump's staff and his Cabinet are chock-full of very serious people.
One of the best of all is Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who just delivered nothing short of pure inspiration at that same Munich Security Conference.

Rubio perfectly exemplifies what a successful Secretary of State needs to be. While Vance warns Europe that they are falling into decay, Rubio urges them to join together with the United States to fight against the forces that want to destroy the West.
And if you think I am being too kind in noting how brilliant Rubio is at this type of firm diplomacy, it looks like everyone in the room agreed with that assessment.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent led the standing ovation, but it only took a second for the entire room to join him.
Which, coincidentally, is exactly what Europe needs to do. As Rubio told them, America will lead. If they want to survive, they'd best follow.

There is no comparison. AOC is a buffoon. Newsom -- who used his opportunity at the conference to talk about the failed climate change scam -- is just a slightly more polished buffoon.

Democrats will claim that everyone hates America under the current administration. What they mean is that THEY hate America.
No one on the Democrat side has the moral clarity and courage to speak honestly to Europe as Rubio just did. That is what leaders respect, even if some of them are too cowardly to say so publicly.
No one respects sucking up to whatever new hypocritical globalist narrative is being spun out of Klaus Schwab and the WEF. Because everyone can see that money is the only reason they do that, not because they believe in any of it. We know that from all of the private jets (and prostitutes) that always show up at Davos.
Rubio wins their respect and applause just for telling simple truths that everyone knows deep down. Mass migration from the third world will destroy the West if we don't stop it. A return to Christianity is needed. Globalism is a failure. Sovereignty matters. And militaries do not fight for a narrative. They fight for nations.
Most importantly, Rubio delivered the message that the United States wants a strong Europe and wants to work together with a strong Europe. But Europe can only survive if it joins America in this existential fight.
As Ronald Reagan said to America in 1964, Rubio told Europe that right now is a time for choosing. They need to make the right choice to join America in prosperity.
I don't know what Rubio's future holds in politics, but it is a big one. He may be on the presidential ticket in 2028, or he may bide his time to run later (he's only 54 years old).
What I know is that he IS the adult in the room. And he is the serious person we need, unlike Newsom or AOC, to deliver a very serious message to Europe.
