We've seen two interesting trends in our political leaders since Donald Trump won the presidency last November.
On one side, you have the Democrats, who apparently are following the advice of David Hogg (LOL), who is telling them that if they just swear and use vulgarities in public, they will sound cool and young people will identify with them.
Except it's not working. Maybe because they all sound like Stepford politicians, repeating the same scripts over and over. It's failing so badly, in fact, that the Democrat Party's approval rating has never been lower, 21 percent and still falling.
On the other hand, politicians on the right are increasingly noticing that it's not swearing that people (of any age) appreciate, it's authenticity.
You can't fake it. You either have it or you don't.
People don't like Trump because he drops F-bombs. They appreciate him for saying exactly what he thinks. Much of his administration is following that lead, starting with Vice President JD Vance. 'I really don't care, Margaret' may or may not have been a planned line, but people understood that Vance was just being Vance.
Other members of Trump's team, like Linda McMahon, Pete Hegseth, Elon Musk, and Tom Homan, are also speaking freely, frankly, and authentically. They are not backing down or bending a single inch to critics who screech at them.
This is great news for America. But, even better, we are seeing this trend happening in places outside the United States as well.
It all started, of course, with the original 'El Loco,' Javier Milei of Argentina. Before he came along, how many world leaders has anyone seen walk right into the WEF and call them out to their faces?

The same goes for Italy's Giorgia Meloni, who is single-handedly saving her country from going down the destructive path of the rest of the EU. While other countries are hilariously calling Trump a 'tyrant' (even as they cancel the rights of their citizens), Meloni is promising to 'Make the West Great Again.'

Europe could use a lot more like her.
(Incidentally, I happen to have a not-so-secret crush on Meloni that I express often on X, so if any Twitchy readers can arrange an introduction, hook a freelancer up, will ya? LOL.)
One of the best additions to this (hopefully) growing cadre of Western leaders who couldn't care less about their unhinged critics is El Salvador's Nayib Bukele.
When leftist activist judge James Boasberg ordered the U.S. to return flights of illegal alien criminals and gang members that were already en route from the US to to El Salvador, Bukele hilariously trolled the ridiculous order.

More recently, during the Democrats' current unhinged hissy fit over MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who still remains in El Salvador where he belongs (because he is Salvadoran, you see), we've seen several delegations from Washington to that country to swoon over the criminal.
The latest trip included Florida Congressman Maxwell Frost who, before he was elected, fancied himself a tough guy on then-Twitter.
I apologize for Frost's language, but here is an example of the type of tweet he used to post:

What an embarrassment he is.
And even though this was an old tweet, there's that false bravado and vulgarity the Democrats love so much these days. By the way, like fellow cosplayers AOC and Jasmine Crockett, Frost is not 'from the streets.'
It's also ironic that he uses language like 'get u spilled' as recently as 2016, when he claims to be an advocate against gun violence and that he was motivated to launch his political career after the Sandy Hook shooting in 2012.
In other words, like Hogg, he's a total phony.

However, either someone in Bukele's administration -- or Bukele himself -- must have cued in on the word 'gang' in Frost's old post.

Again, to return to the main point, this isn't an affectation that Bukele puts on to impress social media 'influencers.'
Like Trump, Milei, and Meloni, it's who he is.
And he is bringing real, positive change to his nation. At his second inauguration, he promised to end rampant gang violence in El Salvador. The left is aghast at his strict prisons (of course), but his policy is working. He is also turning the economy around, much like Milei has in Argentina. He refuses to recognize Venezuela's Nicolas Maduro and has denounced other corrupt elections in Central and South America. Under Bukele's leadership, America has a strong ally in El Salvador.
I get that no political leader is perfect, and I am certainly not here to worship any of them (OK, maybe Meloni, LOL). Trump, Meloni, Milei, and Bukele have made mistakes, and they will make some more.
But their approach to politics is a refreshing change from the past, not to mention a STARK contrast with the screeching leftist authoritarians in America, Europe, and other parts of the West.
We could use a lot fewer politicians like Maxwell Frost and a lot more like Nayib Bukele.
Speaking of which, good luck to Pierre Poilievre in Canada. The West needs you (and your apples), too.
