Elon Musk comments on reinstating Trump's Twitter and DeSantis in 2024

In a recent back-and-forth with Twitter users, Elon Musk revealed a bit about his current thinking on 2024 presidential politics.

In case you haven’t been following along, Musk can hardly be described as a conservative. He has stated that he essentially believes the modern left is crazy and the ‘woke mind virus’ is harmful to society (it is). That seems to shape much of his political thinking and actions with Twitter as of late.

In response to this observation of Trump’s tweeting truancy, Elon Musk said that he didn’t care that Trump wasn’t tweeting, but he did accurately describe Trump’s suspension.

Trump did not violate Twitter’s terms of service (TOS). Trump did not break the law. Trump, while still President of the United States, was banned from Twitter because political actors blamed him for the actions of those who broke the law by rioting at the Capitol on January 6, and Twitter management agreed.

It was the wrong decision, and the Left hates Musk for recognizing it in a time when January 6 dogma is defended with the ferocity of an 11th century crusader.

You don’t have to take our word for it that Musk is not, at heart, a conservative.

This should also put to bed any illusions that every move Elon Musk makes is brilliant. He voted for Obama and Joe Biden.

Still, his instincts on the Left are correct, and his recent moves with Twitter are definitely in the direction most conservatives favor.

This is the big picture view that drives Elon Musk. It has become increasingly clear that silencing opposing views is the lone defense of the modern Left, and Musk himself found himself in a front row seat of leftist ire when he started speaking up about it.

How did he think Joe Biden would be ‘sensible and centrist’? We can’t explain that one, other than to say most people don’t follow politics as closely as crazy people like us do. LOL.

That’s where things got interesting.

It’s a good question. Most see 2024 shaping up to be a full-scale primary war between former President Trump and Florida governor, Ron DeSantis.

Trump recently announced his intention to run again in 2024. Ron DeSantis has not yet made any pronouncement.

Short, to the point, and also possibly revealing. If things remain as they are (2024 is a long way off), it seems Musk would be plenty willing to support the GOP for president, despite pushing for divided government in the 2022 midterms.

What does this mean? Who knows? It’s interesting. As informed voters, it shouldn’t affect your opinion at all. As political observers, we all know things like this can have an impact. Elon Musk is a popular cultural figurehead currently. These things matter … usually more than they should.

To be clear, if you’re a hardcore Lefty (you must have clicked the wrong link), or more likely, if you’re a big fan of President Trump, your bigger concern would be whether this will have any impact on Twitter’s treatment of your candidate of choice.

Musk’s own follow-up was meant to address that concern.

That’s all we’ve ever asked for.
