The Late Show With Stephen Colbert aired its final program Thursday night. It was reportedly the highest rated Colbert show on a weekday ever, which means the irony was thick:
We checked – there was not a single mention of Trump's name during Colbert's final episode of "The Late Show." pic.twitter.com/h9c36oRLcj

Hey, maybe they should have tried that a little more often!
The beginning of Colbert's era on The Late Show to its evolution into a TDS asylum that can be accurately referred to as DNC-TV has been one of the biggest Ker-CHUNKs we've ever seen.
Here's a 2015 flashback reminder via @mazemoore:
One of Colbert’s first guests went his show started in 2015 was Donald Trump. Colbert told Trump that he liked him. pic.twitter.com/D2rcIc0HOB

So, "how it started":
Colbert to Trump in 2015: I like you.
How it's going in May of 2026:

No wonder the TDS crowd is being slowly driven insane (or, more accurately put, has been driving themselves insane). The Left has come and gone and Trump's still in office despite all their best efforts.
It's because Colbert assumed Trump would only undermine the Republican party, not get the nomination, and ultimately in doing so help Hillary win.

Bingo.
Because he thought Trump would lose. Even establishment Republicans thought he would lose and they WANTED him to lose in 2016. https://t.co/HHlkuuB1MM

In 2015 and early 2016 there were a lot of Democrats practically begging the Republicans to nominate Trump so Hillary Clinton could cruise to victory. How'd that work out for the Dems?
Boy did this joke blow up in their face as an all timer huh.

It was all really funny right up until the moment when it wasn't. https://t.co/gvuXDNbx2l
They're certainly not laughing now.
