When it comes to taking a hammer to the mainstream media, the Associated Press is the outlet that eclipses the rest when it comes to journalistic malpractice and hackery (and that's a high bar to clear).
That brings me to another update about the current state of the media:
The Associated Press will need sunscreen from being in the spotlight of scrutiny this often, but they've earned it.
Here's the AP's offering about Biden's latest unconstitutional vote-buying scheme that he's moving forward with even though the Supreme Court has said this kind of thing is illegal:

There it is!
"Republicans pounce on illegal loan forgiveness gambit." The AP is officially gone. https://t.co/BJXHBkm5Jw

If Trump did the same thing the AP headline would be "In move worthy of a 3rd world dictator, Trump moves forward with vote-buying scheme the Supreme Court has already ruled unconstitutional."
AP also uses the Dem narrative language of debt "cancellation" when the burden is merely being transferred elsewhere. What a garbage alleged media organization.
Moving on, after new documents related to the FBI's raid at Mar-a-Lago came out, Trump posted this to Truth Social:
“WOW! I just came out of the Biden Witch Hunt Trial in Manhattan, the ‘Icebox,’ and was shown Reports that Crooked Joe Biden’s DOJ, in their illegal and UnConstitutional Raid of Mar-a-Lago, AUTHORIZED THE FBI TO USE DEADLY (LETHAL) FORCE. NOW WE KNOW, FOR SURE, THAT JOE BIDEN IS A SERIOUS THREAT TO DEMOCRACY. HE IS MENTALLY UNFIT FOR OFFICE — 25TH AMENDMENT!”
And guess what -- the FBI was authorized to use deadly force if necessary:
Tons of new unsealed filings on classified docs case--I will try to post as much as I can (there goes the workout) but this is mind-blowing.

With that in mind, here's the AP's fact-check on Trump's post about the DOJ approving the use of deadly force if necessary during the Mar-a-Lago raid:
FACT FOCUS: Trump distorts use of 'deadly force' language in FBI document for Mar-a-Lago search https://t.co/gGO7MYMGvD
— The Associated Press (@AP) May 23, 2024
The language in the document is exactly what Trump said in his post, so how did he "distort" it? The AP wrote that those words are standard operating procedure in such documents. First of all, there's no "standard operating procedure" for something unprecedented, and second, the words are in the document just like Trump said, so that doesn't make his post wrote no matter how hard the AP spins it.
I’m so old, I remember when AP wasn’t a wholly owned subsidiary of the DNC.

There's absolutely no difference between AP stories and DNC or Biden White House press releases.
