Yesterday the Biden White House asked Congress to approve a new $40 billion spending package, with well over half of that going to -- you guessed it -- Ukraine.
The Biden WH also tossed in a few billion marked for border security and to address the fentanyl crisis just so if Republicans vote against the package because of the additional Ukraine funding the Democrats can say "the GOP says they want a secure border and to end the fentanyl crisis but just voted against it!"
Here's the breakdown:
NEWS: WH to ask Congress for $40 billion in supplemental funding. Here’s the breakdown:
— Andrew Desiderio (@AndrewDesiderio) August 10, 2023
—$13 billion for Ukraine on defense side
—$11 billion in econ/humanitarian assistance for Ukraine
—$4 billion for the border/migration/fentanyl
—$60 million for wildland firefighter pay
Yesterday I ran across a story from the news agency that's basically become a branch office of the DNC: The Associated Press.
The part of the AP's story about what the domestic portion of Biden's spending request would address is doing some heavy lifting to help the Left push the new "global boiling" hotness. If you're keeping score at home, "summer" has been replaced by "climate season."
Summer is now "climate season" according to the AP: pic.twitter.com/9Pg8wij1p1

Just shameless hackery here:
The Biden administration on Thursday asked Congress to provide more than $13 billion in emergency defense aid to Ukraine and an additional $8 billion for humanitarian support through the end of the year, another massive infusion of cash as the Russian invasion wears on and Ukraine pushes a counteroffensive against the Kremlin’s deeply entrenched forces.
The package includes $12 billion to replenish the U.S. federal disaster funds at home after a deadly climate season of heat and storms, and funds to bolster the enforcement at the Southern border with Mexico, including money to curb the flow of deadly fentanyl. All told, it’s a $40 billion package.
We'll have to wait a few months to see what the Associated Press starts calling "winter." Any guesses?
