Former U.S. Ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul made some comments on the Rachel Maddow show yesterday that received immediate bipartisan blistering. However, for some reason, the Maddow Blog account featured the video for several hours, but eventually the shaming reached such a degree that the tweet was deleted. However, screenshots are forever.
This is what McFaul had to say:
Why did you delete this? pic.twitter.com/JnzDwa4X09

deleted, but the List comes for all, @MaddowBlog.

Yikes.
Wow, @maddow, you need whichever employee that posted this tweet to go and read some history about the people who Hitler murdered, specifically Germans.
Then post an apology. https://t.co/cbo409pLYr

Obama's ambassador to Russia – who helped promote the Russian-Collusion narrative:
"One difference between Hitler, when he was coming in, and Putin. Hitler didn't kill ethnic Germans. He didn't kill German-speaking people."
These people are idiots.https://t.co/AwFMZCwk1B https://t.co/PpsVz4cm3O

The tweet has been deleted, but @MSNBC, @maddow, and @AliVelshi need to explain why they allowed @McFaul to quote Nazi propaganda on air, claiming Hitler's victims were not German, gave no pushback, and then repeated the lie on @MaddowBlog.
This is inexcusable.

The Maddow Blog account tried to spin the deletion as best they could:
The historical record is clear. Hitler killed millions of Germans. We tweeted out part of an inaccurate statement made last night by former Ambassador Michael McFaul without attribution, and we regret doing so. We have since removed the tweet. pic.twitter.com/T33rhM1yPT

McFaul ended up trying to explain himself and asking for some assistance to learn more:

“I didn’t know what I was talking about” is a fairly refreshing admission from an MSNBC guest, but being incorrect appears to be a requirement to be featured on the cable net.
Did they finally delete it? I mean, when you've lost Olbermann…
— Pam (@lifebythecreek) March 12, 2022
She said they did. See my last tweet. Boy, he stepped in it.
— 🇺🇸Redrivergrl🇺🇸 (@redrivergrl) March 12, 2022
McFaul also had this reply to Keith Olbermann:
In spite of this MSNBC will no doubt continue to feature comments from McFaul because he so often says exactly what they want to hear.
If you don't know these things you probably shouldn't be getting paid to talk about them…
— Jay (@jfrausto96) March 12, 2022
So you agree you should be nowhere near cable news for the foreseeable future then. https://t.co/duhefXK6Ho

Unfortunately for some cable outlets, being wrong but from the Left is a feature, not a bug.
