It’s been about one year since the Covid-19 virus started making its way around the world, kicking off a pandemic that has taken many lives and had a crippling effect on economies due to government lockdowns and shutdowns.
At this point, the World Health Organization has dispatched a team to Wuhan, China, and the AP reports that they’re not clear if the leadership there will try and cover anything up:
A global team of researchers has arrived in the Chinese city where the coronavirus was first detected to investigate the origins of the pandemic. There's uncertainly about whether Beijing might try to prevent embarrassing discoveries.https://t.co/lJXkAFhhng

From the Associated Press:
A global team of researchers arrived Thursday in the Chinese city where the coronavirus pandemic was first detected to conduct a politically sensitive investigation into its origins amid uncertainty about whether Beijing might try to prevent embarrassing discoveries.
The group sent to Wuhan by the World Health Organization was approved by President Xi Jinping’s government after months of diplomatic wrangling that prompted an unusual public complaint by the head of WHO.
For the WHO and the media there might be some things that remain “unclear,” but not for many others:

Imagine trying to investigate a crime scene a year later after the suspects, along with their own team of experts have had a year to do whatever they want with the evidence. It's going to be difficult to uncover anything that China doesn't want the investigators to uncover.

CSI shows up a year later at a murder scene & finds no evidence ??♂️ https://t.co/uKoveZdsb7

You kidding right? They're putting chinese reporters in jail just for spreading information. Of course they'll hide as much as they can https://t.co/abpQu34OvT

Researchers only arriving now…..wouldn't trust that lot. Perhaps they should have started there instead of only getting there a year after the virus has hit the globe

Also ridiculous, this should have been done immediately. What possible evidence would be there after a year? I'm not speculating what might be found, it makes no sense to carry out an investigation so late. https://t.co/irBtIIlKFH

We’re just guessing, but now the WHO will be able to say “we checked it out and found nothing.”
I bet they won't find anything conclusive.. ? https://t.co/7IbdxJNQZ9

That’s very likely.
