Former New York Times executive editor Jill Abramson was on Fox News today, and one topic up for discussion was the Times’ report about Brett Kavanaugh that warranted an “editor’s note” to clarify that the woman mentioned in the story does not recall the alleged incident. For some reason that part of the story was left out of the original Times story, but Abramson defended the Times and the reporters who presented the story that ended up imploding:
Former New York Times Executive Editor Jill Abramson says the recent false allegation about Kavanaugh, which the woman doesn't remember happening, is important because "someone saw it." That someone is Max Stier, Clinton's impeachment lawyer. Journalists? Nah. Activists.

That this is the attitude of a former executive at the paper speaks volumes about how things ended up where they are:
Jill Abramson, former New York Times executive editor, says, "No one has challenged the basic accuracy of the story [the journalists] published or of what's in the book."

What essentially amounts to “nobody can prove it didn’t happen” is a doozy of a “journalism” standard.
She says, “There’s no evidence it’s fiction…”. And that’s what makes this sham smear ok in the eyes of liberals.

This accusation is laughable in any fact-based world. https://t.co/BF31ZyRCXV

Jill Abramson just destoryed her 40 year career in one television interview with Harris Faulkner. Absolute disgrace to journalists and editors across this country. Disgusting journalism. #NYtimes

Was Jill Abramson trying to get her old job back at the NYT? https://t.co/GQz2NBVRmh

If so that was a heck of an effort.
