GOP Rep. Steve Scalise, who survived an assassination attempt last June after a man opened fire on a baseball field where Republican members of the House were practicing, has written an op-ed criticizing Democrats including Eric Holder for fanning the flames of violence and harassment. CNBC journo John Harwood actually attempted to fact check that assertion coming from a congressman who was shot last year:
third-ranking House Republican, who survived an assassination attempt, seeks to rouse GOP voters w/op-ed accusing top Democratic politicians of encouraging violence against Republicans which is not true https://t.co/4Zq7XIBaAl

If anybody would know what they’re talking about on this subject, it’s Rep. Scalise, but obviously Harwood wasn’t buying it.
How dare a man who very nearly died in a mass-assassination attempt speak out about this subject? https://t.co/2oEv0zBs7r

This is a new level of 'POUNCE' that I couldn't imagine we'd see.
Harwood frankly should be ashamed of himself. Scalise, just like other victims, has a right to speak his mind on this. https://t.co/GvHaXn2tue

Media firefighting and even gaslighting, illustrated. With a dose of “Republicans pounce” thrown in for good measure. https://t.co/VJqnALdw9p

Ah, “journalism”!
Pesky Republicans denouncing obvious calls for incivility by dem leadership after almost dying at the hands of a Bernie bro. https://t.co/cjPaj5SA8K

Do we rouse before or after we pounce? https://t.co/A58KMiTxbY

Shaming a guy who was nearly murdered by a leftist who was responding to violent Democrat rhetoric for warning about violent Democrat rhetoric…#Notagoodlook https://t.co/6CdfOkmW8z

The day before Scalise was nearly murdered, the progressive group OurRevolution posted a map with crosshairs on Virginia, where the attack took place.
Progressives expressly told America that this was incitement to murder, when Sarah Palin did it. pic.twitter.com/26yTrCajOa

Hope nobody gets hurt because of you excusing away your side's disgusting rhetoric.
