Congressional Democrats quickly started spreading a brief clip of Brett Kavanaugh answering a question to sound the alarm about the SCOTUS nominee. Among them was Sen. Kamala Harris:
Kavanaugh chooses his words very carefully, and this is a dog whistle for going after birth control. He was nominated for the purpose of taking away a woman’s constitutionally protected right to make her own health care decisions. Make no mistake – this is about punishing women. pic.twitter.com/zkBjXzIvQI

The clip leaves out some important context, but CNN helped the Dems out by not exactly concerning themselves with that:
Brett Kavanaugh's views on birth control drew scrutiny after he referred to contraceptives as "abortion-inducing drugs" https://t.co/ZgSioLWV99 pic.twitter.com/ShT9d8XQGF

Fox News’ Brit Hume threw a bushel of apples & bananas at CNN over that approach:
He was stating the position of a party to a case. How dishonest can a news organization be? Fact check much? https://t.co/0Qb9D2P1z3

Ironically CNN bills itself as the “Facts First” news organization — unless those facts should be buried deep into a story so as to not ruin a preferred Dem narrative.
Come on @CNNPolitics , you’ve got to be better than that! https://t.co/U4nngvWdM0

CNN leaves out key words in order to distort the facts. This isn’t the first time. https://t.co/AusuDOFGYd

This is the real issue. When these smears happen on the right, they get picked up by partisan media and dismissed by mainstream media. When they happen on the left, mainstream media spreads the smear: https://t.co/H94tOk8hKV
