Dems doom Obama's radical DOJ nominee; 'Deranged' Harry Reid decries GOP racism

We have an answer to that question, and it’s exactly what many expected.

President Obama’s controversial nominee to head the Justice Department’s civil rights division, Debo Adegbile, was blocked by the Senate in a 47-52 vote earlier today. Seven Democrats voted against the nomination, which became eight after Harry Reid switched to a “no” at the last minute to preserve his ability to re-visit the nomination in the future.

Had the Dems held together there was little the Republicans could have done to block the nomination, which was by simple majority vote. However, in spite of reality, Harry Reid found some of his usual scapegoats:

Pathetic, but that’s Harry Reid:

In the final speech before the vote, Reid called the GOP opposition to Adegbile “an affront to what it means to live in America,” and — noting Adegbile’s history with working on voting rights cases — said it is part of a larger Republican strategy to disenfranchise minority and impoverished voters.

“They want fewer voting people. They don’t want people to vote and they especially don’t want poor people to vote.” Reid said.

Stunning, except not really:

At least Reid is predictable.
