NY Gov. Kathy Hochul addresses concerns of rising crime by claiming the issue is a GOP 'conspiracy'

While many Democrats would rather focus purely on abortion and climate change, the issues that are top concerns for voters include inflation and crime:

The Democrats have a couple of choices in how to approach the issue of crime: Acknowledge the problem or pretend it’s not a big deal. Acknowledging the problem would paint many Dems in a corner (because they are the problem), so in this instance New York Gov. Kathy Hochul has opted for the gaslighting option.

You’ll notice the little game that Hochul is playing here, which is when it comes to rising crime in big cities (that are mostly run by Democrats and have been for decades) suddenly they turn crime into a state-level issue and call “conspiracy” on Republicans:

Who are you going to believe, New York’s Democrat governor or your lying eyes?

It’s gaslighting and Hochul knows it. Recently Gov. Hochul, along with NYC Mayor Eric Adams, announced a plan to add a much larger police presence to the subway system:

Gov. Hochul and Mayor Adams said Saturday they will flood the city’s crime-ravaged subway system with more cops and ramp up the installation of additional surveillance cameras.

Their “Cops, Cameras, Care” initiative — announced Saturday at Grand Central Terminal just over two weeks before Hochul tries to retain her seat on Election Day – includes the state-run MTA Police Department and the NYPD joining forces to add 1,200 extra overtime shifts daily to watch over the subway system.

This, they said, would translate into about 10,000 extra hours of cops patrolling subways and that New Yorkers would soon see officers covering subway platforms on extended tours daily in at least 300 stations during peak hours.

It sounds like Hochul is part of the “conspiracy” to give the impression that crime is rising.

LOL! It’d never happen.

At this point, with the midterms eight days away, desperate gaslighting is all the Democrats have because reality is not on their side.
