State that just started forcing everybody into electric vehicles issues plea to avoid charging EVs due to stress on energy grid

I don’t know about all of you, but when it comes to states with political leadership that has the most backfire, nobody comes close to California and their “green” politicians who seem hellbent to send everybody back to the stone age. It’s too bad nobody’s figured out a way to harness the energy generated by every progressive rake stomp in California — but I’ll get to that in a second.

First off, as you might have heard, as of 2035 the sale of new gas-powered vehicles will be forbidden in California:

California, the country’s most populous state and the center of U.S. car culture, is banning the sale of new gasoline-powered vehicles starting in 2035, marking a historic step in the state’s battle against climate change.

The rule, issued by the California Air Resources Board on Thursday, will force automakers to speed up production of cleaner vehicles beginning in 2026 until sales of only zero-emission cars, pickup trucks and SUVs are allowed in the state.

The unanimous vote comes after Gov. Gavin Newsom set a target in 2020 to accelerate the shift away from internal combustion engines. The transportation sector represents the largest source of greenhouse gas emissions in California, which has suffered from record-breaking wildfires, droughts and air pollution worsened by climate change.

In other words, California leadership wants to see everybody driving electric vehicles.

Fast forward to this coming weekend and we hit the inevitable “you can’t make this stuff up” phase of this story:

Wait, really? Yes, really:

“Switch to all-electric vehicles” insist the people who will then later ask everybody not to use very much electricity.

As usual, another progressive “plan” has not been thought through.

There appears to be another snag in the design of progressive utopia.

Here’s one possible future:

If you’re going to have an electric car, make sure you own a gas-powered generator to charge it with… just in case! And lefty politicians will pretend not to notice the irony.
