Politifact took a break from fact-checking satirical publications this week to examine a claim going around social media about prices rising during the Biden presidency.
The GOPer who made the graphic in question took exception to how Politifact handled things:
Omg my graphic got “fact-checked” today and they came to the conclusion that yes my data is accurate but APPARENTLY there has been a pandemic going on and I should’ve included “context”??? pic.twitter.com/nM8s9CNdSi

You can tell immediately from the headline that it’s going to be one of those “true but partly false” fact checks:
The PolitiFact fact-check article on this begins, and I quote, “Yes, prices are higher under Biden, but” https://t.co/hWs1VL2qXJ

Would Politifact have done the “context” gymnastics if Trump were still in office and the same thing was happening? For some reason we doubt it.
This is not a "fact check." This is an opinion. https://t.co/w0KZKBnldX

"The main reason is the nation’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic."
Hahahahaha such crap.https://t.co/A898LgK1ge— Walterindenver (@WalterinDenver) May 28, 2021
Also the country isn’t recovering economically from the pandemic, it’s recovering from Democrat politicians’ lockdown & shutdown orders in response to the pandemic (and quest to get Trump out of office).
