Earlier today Facebook’s Oversight Board recommended that the social media company continue former President Trump’s suspension for at least another six months. With that news, people like Ben Shapiro spotted some seriously selective rule enforcement on the part of social media platforms:
Facebook's Oversight Board says they were right to suspend Trump because he violated their rule "prohibiting praise or support of people engaged in violence." Last year, nearly the entire media and Democratic Party praised people engaged in the most costly riots in US history.

But CNN’s Brian Stelter says Facebook is just doing what needs to be done to punish those who spread fake news:
Lots of people like to slag on Facebook, and the company definitely deserves a lot of scrutiny, but: We're only talking about this suspension policy *because of the former president's misconduct.* Because he has poisoned the democratic well. That's gotta remain front and center. pic.twitter.com/2y14d5RZTC

If that’s the case, then it has to be asked…

So why isn’t @CNN banned?

Self-awareness is non-existent at CNN, and also they’re often too busy paying attention to what’s happening on Fox News to notice what was on their own cable net:
CNN poisoned the journalistic well with their four years of fake news reports, Brian. Maybe Facebook should ban y'all, too. https://t.co/cemcXdA7ju

Stelter ignores:
For 4 years, CNN spread lies about Russian influence in the 2016 election and Trump being connected to Russia. Now that's poisoning the democratic well. pic.twitter.com/BPNNiau3Sx

And all the CNN panelists helping get “hands up don’t shoot” going a few years ago was another special CNN moment. Perhaps Stelter can discuss the spreading of lies the next time he hosts Dan Rather on “Reliable Sources.”
