It used to be that you might see promos for a network’s Evening News interview with a noted political figure during a late-night comedy/interview show, but these days, on occasion, it’s the other way around: Network news’ anchors are promoting interviews with certain politicians that are conducted by the late-night hosts:

In addition to some left-of-center folks criticizing CBS News’ choice of a clip to use, a “journalism” shift has been detected:
