Boy, CNN really stepped in it with a tweet about five Dems who have been “leaders” on impeaching President Trump:
These five freshman congresswomen changed history by becoming unlikely leaders on impeachment.https://t.co/vSMWkdn8UH pic.twitter.com/JI8Ejbm7u1

Hmm, there are a few we can think of that fall into the “not pictured” category. The lefty backlash was swift and massive:
When you decide to pander to the "woke" crowd, you will eventually be eaten by your own.

That’s abundantly clear. Pass that popcorn!
LOL the ratioing this is getting because they're white is just ???? https://t.co/BKXslGtlPw

Here’s just a sampling of the Resistance backlash CNN’s hearing:
Is it me or do #MaxineWaters, #RashidaTlaib, #AOC, #IlhanOmar, and #AyannaPressley look so different in this video? https://t.co/Axvpev0A0I
— Peter Daou (@peterdaou) September 29, 2019
.@RepMaxineWaters was the leader on impeachment!
— yvette nicole brown (@YNB) September 29, 2019
Wow, erase the squad and replace them with some white ladies no one's ever heard of…
— ?Splatypus? (@Splatypus76) September 29, 2019
Where's the credit to @RepAlGreen @RepMaxineWaters @IlhanMN @RashidaTlaib?
— David Weissman (@davidmweissman) September 29, 2019
The badasses were the members who led the call for impeachment while their party leadership, the pundits and the polls were against them, and who endured death threats while waiting for their colleagues to come around.https://t.co/iy54nTZd6B
— Brian Fallon (@brianefallon) September 30, 2019
This is still just… awful. https://t.co/qUliJauCyP
— John Iadarola (@johniadarola) September 30, 2019
So ridiculous. Here are better impeachment headline ideas:
"Leading the charge: How Maxine Waters and Al Green were so right so early"
"The Squad: How four freshmen congresswomen of color were vindicated after enduring doubts from their own party and vicious abuse from the GOP" https://t.co/pVzNcRwHps
— Brandon Friedman (@BFriedmanDC) September 29, 2019
lmao the squad has been vocal in opposition and been attacked by 45 personally. Yet let's talk about these 5 white women who used to be cops and how they're the real trailblazers! https://t.co/LxuWGhWLyo
— Rxbun (@Rxbun) September 28, 2019
Let me stop you white there https://t.co/ni0txyeHA7
— Daniel José Older (@djolder) September 29, 2019
The flagrant erasure of left women of color in this story is staggering, but that's @DanaBashCNN for you https://t.co/spqjz2NokC
— Yes, You're Racist (@YesYoureRacist) September 29, 2019
Did ya'll really erase @RashidaTlaib. Stop it. https://t.co/hgExWKHzjK
— Winifred (@WaywardWinifred) September 29, 2019
The story gives these women credit for leading impeachment when in fact they were late in the game followers. If not for the work of women of color, there would have been no impeachment movement for them to glom onto, a fact this story seems to forget.

Yeah this is trash. The “loudest voice in the room” we know what you’re trying to say
— brain genius (@Millerheighife) September 29, 2019
This is disrespectful to the freshman congresswomen who were actual leaders on impeachment. This is disrespectful to the congresswoman who was the 1st & maintained her call for impeachment, despite the slings & arrows from her own party. #whitewashing
