Say the name Brian Williams in non-media circles among people who have paid attention to the scorched landscape of media credibility lately and “credible journalist” isn’t likely to be the first thing that leaps to the minds of many. But a new Politico report skips most of that in favor of helping out with Williams’ career rehab effort:

Well gee, isn’t that… something.
Yes please tell us you’re all very concerned about regaining trust in news media. https://t.co/i3HQI4nQgM

They just don’t get it, do they?
The news media don't see him as a liar that got exposed. They see him as an injured comrade getting back on his feet. They have no concept of honesty or integrity.

But maybe Williams can credit some of his journo peers for his “comeback”:
Williams’s transgression is hardly mentioned anymore, perhaps because he apologized and accepted the punishment, or because of the time that has passed. But it also has receded in the public attention in part due to the much more serious and salacious accusations about some of his peers — Matt Lauer, Charlie Rose and Mark Halperin, among others — documented as part of the #MeToo movement.
“Williams’s transgression” might hardly be mentioned in media circles, but it sure is elsewhere.
The media has been 99% discredited.

A profession with the slightest amount of concern for its credibility would not describe this as a 'renaissance'. That this is occurring demonstrates that what you people are engaged in isn't anything close to 'journalism'. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

They don’t get it, and probably never will.
When the media starts praising the FRAUD/LIAR Brian Williams, says everything you need to know ?♀️

The guy is a liar; not that I'm belaboring the point but what renaissance? The one where everyone is supposed to forget that?

That’s exactly what they seem to be hoping for.
