Ouch! Kurt Schlichter LEVELS Rep. Ted Lieu's attempt to turn the 'free speech' tables in #1A back & forth

As we told you yesterday, Rep. Ted Lieu let the mask fall all the way to the ground after saying on CNN that he’d “love” to regulate speech, but the First Amendment won’t allow it:

THERE it is! Rep. Ted Lieu admits what he’d ‘love to regulate’ (and it’s ‘absolutely pathetic’) https://t.co/oZy4Mp3EOE

Lieu later tried to spin his way out of it, but by then it was too late, and Kurt Schlichter was among those not buying it:

My congressbeing @tedlieu is a disgrace. https://t.co/HtwRINmJie

— Kurt Schlichter (@KurtSchlichter) December 13, 2018

Lieu didn’t like that criticism, and tried to turn the tables this way:

I served on active duty in the United States military to defend your right to say stupid stuff.

— Ted Lieu (@tedlieu) December 13, 2018

But Schlichter wasn’t having any of that:

Save your "But I was in the Air Force" thing for the rubes. Your fascist instincts and hatred of the First Amendment are central to your scummy party. https://t.co/T9xeVwNvDJ

Ouch! But Lieu is nevertheless continuing to defend his remarks from yesterday by also making it about Republicans:

My whole point is that government officials always want to regulate speech, see e.g. the Republican Judiciary hearing alleging Google is biased against Republicans. But thank goodness the First Amendment prevents me, @POTUS and Republicans from doing so.

— Ted Lieu (@tedlieu) December 13, 2018

That’s still not the explanation he thinks it is.

Serving our country doesn't excuse shitty principles. You can't say "I fought for your Right to say that" after going on CNN and saying the only reason you and your party don't limit speech is because it's illegal.

At least @tedlieu only wants to strip away our 1A right; @RepSwalwell wants to nuke us.

Hey, good point!
