On the morning of December 7th, 1941, Pearl Harbor was attacked, marking the beginning of the United States’ war against Japan. @USSArizona marked the occasion with a series of “as it happened” tweets, ending the day this way:
77 years ago today 2,335 American servicemen lost their lives. Their sacrifice upon the altar of freedom was costly. #PearlHarbor77 #NeverForget

As the sun sets on Pearl Harbor, we remember those who were present and would fight another day. And of those whose lives would end on this “Day of Infamy”. #PearlHarbor77 pic.twitter.com/v4rYrVpOmo

We now change our profile photo for the next 24 hours to reflect on the loss of our ship and the lives lost on this day, 77 years ago. #RememberPearlHarbor #RememberUSSArizona #PearlHarbor77 pic.twitter.com/cxf26WAuDY

However, earlier in the day during the live “as it happened” tweets, there was a problem that’s being looked into:
Earlier, during our live tweeting of the attack on Pearl Harbor as it happened in 1941, our account was suddenly restricted by @Twitter and no tweets were able to be sent for a period of about 8 minutes. We apologize and are looking into this. @TwitterSupport

Fortunately it didn’t last too long, but considering what’s been going on lately, Twitter caused even more eyes to roll:
Wow. Really, @Twitter? https://t.co/2693oNbr1i

Twitter also had a ‘suspicious activity’ warning for anyone clicking on your profile. #AlgoFail

Wow, that is ridiculous. I'm so sorry, I enjoy your moment to moment tweets.

In spite of the interruption, @USSArizona had one of the best timelines of the day in remembrance of the “day that will live in infamy,” so make sure to check it all out here.
