The Democrat talking points have obviously gone out, and the angle that’s being taken is that troops are going to be kept from their families over the holidays only because of President Trump’s “stunt” about the caravan. Rep. Eric Swalwell’s even taking a poll:

According to Defense Secretary Mattis, it’s not a “stunt”:
Amid criticism of deployment of U.S. troops to the southern border, Defense Sec. James Mattis told @ABC yesterday, "We don't do stunts in this department." https://t.co/kIpAwYDaOJ pic.twitter.com/cAc6MMxg4M

Maybe Rep. Swalwell can ask Mattis about it in person one of these days.
They're protecting our country because losers like you don't work to make America safe. https://t.co/ZE5CkvrZfK

You paid for the caravan. You can explain to these soldier’s families why. It isn’t on Trump. 🖕🏻

No. It's time to protect our borders.
That is our troops primary responsibility.
You dishonor them. https://t.co/Qdfp3XcF0V

Lol it would be a shame if he lost this poll. https://t.co/LVT0LmXwWp

“We don’t do stunts in this department.”
Also: many of us wouldn’t be able to go home regardless of this caravan.

How’s the poll going?

Maybe Swalwell’s next poll should be on how many people plan on voting for him to be the next president. He could be disappointed with the results.
