The progressives in the Democratic Party have been transfixed by the pro-socialism rhetoric of Bernie Sanders and more recently Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. That message seems to be spreading, if a recent Gallup poll is any indication:
Gallup: “For the first time in Gallup's measurement over the past decade, Democrats have a more positive image of socialism than they do of capitalism.” https://t.co/poLAv5IsYt

Wow, that could be the gift that keeps on giving (to Republicans, that is).
It'd be so damn easy for the Ds to win in 2020 and they're going to blow it. https://t.co/6Im6BCWUrY

Shh! Don’t tell them.

Perhaps Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has helped make it fashionable again, but not among those who have actually studied history:
This is insane. Capitalism now has a more than hundred year record of feeding the hungry, lifting people all over the world out of extreme poverty, and giving us countless technology. Socialism has the same lengthy record of doing the opposite. https://t.co/3juBwJiiI9

Replace "image of socialism" with an actual image of the hundreds of millions of people who have died as a result out socialism and ask them again. https://t.co/J4dSSpa7Fg

Good grief. Does no one study history?

If this is the case then it is objectively true that Democrats are either ignorant or stupid… or both… https://t.co/UBO78vomtr

We are at a dangerous place when one of the two political parties has become anti-American. https://t.co/hQ5wRul8Zm

Because they've never experienced real socialism. They've imagined that socialism will allow them to spend lazy days at coffee shops discussing philosophy and art while the "evil" rich support them. https://t.co/PGOuS82evQ

And by the time they got what they wanted and realized how wrong they were it’d be too late.
