According to reports, soldiers who attempted a failed coup in Turkey were loyal to an imam who lives in exile in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains. The Turkish government wants the U.S. to extradite Fethullah Gulen to face charges over the coup attempt.
Vice President Joe Biden is in Turkey this week:
In Turkey, @VP reiterates that US had no advance knowledge of July 15th attempted coup & stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Turkish govt.

Biden tried to explain why President Obama can’t act on his own to extradite Gulen:
On Turkish extradition request, Biden says Pres Obama cannot act unilaterally: If a president tried, it’s an impeachable offense, he said.

Biden saying again that Obama can't extradite #Gulen. He is also stressing this would violate separation of powers + be impeachable offence

So Obama’s use of the “pen and phone” is an unconstitutional abuse of power, but only for certain things?
@markknoller He gives Iran millions of dollars & trades Gitmo prisoners for a traitor without Congressional input. But, hides behind them now
