New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo gave people in his state a #Blizzard2016 update this morning:
Just watched Gov Cuomo on CNN. Expecting the eye of the storm in NYC at around 11 PM. Eye? cc: @DrShepherd2013 @StuOstro

Do snowstorms have “eyes”?
Governor Cuomo…the "eye of the storm" will arrive in New York at 11 AM…very meteorologically sound… @NYGovCuomo

@DrShepherd2013 @PaulEWalsh @StuOstro I mean, it is an Extratropical cyclone and does have a center, but I wouldn't call it an eye.

@DrShepherd2013 @PaulEWalsh @StuOstro Somebody probably told him it was like a hurricane.

Cuomo also said the same thing in a radio interview:
“It is very bad, and it is going to get worse,” New York Gov.Cuomo said in an interview on WABC-TV. “They eye of the storm is coming at 11, and we expect conditions to deteriorate.”
Return of the snowicane?
Never ceases to amaze, does it. Its like you cant make some of this up. https://t.co/FYUAF4C8UU

Presumably Cuomo was talking about the point when snowfall would be heaviest, but this isn’t the first time he’s been fact-checked by meteorologists.
@BigJoeBastardi @DrShepherd2013 The worse they make it sound, the more they can look like fearless leader.
