Last year, a plaque was placed at the Chicago location where Barack and Michelle Obama supposedly shared their “first kiss.” National Review’s Ramesh Ponnuru tweeted a photo to remind everyone that even though it’s been well over a year, the plaque is still ripe for mockery:

@RameshPonnuru Looks like something North Korea would do.

The people who placed the plaque are probably kicking themselves for not thinking of this:
@sunnyright Though North Korea would have noted how Kim had personally invented Ice Cream. @RameshPonnuru

The mega mockery and general creeped-out feelings continue:
@RameshPonnuru Cult of Personality… Reminds me of the plaques I used to see when living in Russia.

It's so religious. When will we have to start making pilgrimages to these important sacred sites? RT @RameshPonnuru pic.twitter.com/Xd7O2W7Kur

Ruined a perfectly good rock RT @oddlysaid: That's the creepiest thing I've seen in a long time. RT @RameshPonnuru: pic.twitter.com/d22wXDSZ26

@RameshPonnuru This is just bizarre. Maybe that Little Rock motel can set up a similar Clinton-themed plaque.

@RameshPonnuru Have any miracles been observed at this site? Have people started making pilgrimages here?

If there’s a miracle involved, it’s that the plaque has survived in that same Chicago location over a year without ending up on Oprah’s mantel.
