Trail Blazers waive Greg Oden

Greg Oden has never been able to stay healthy and because of that the Portland Trail Blazers decided to waive the former No. 1 draft pick.

Oden was blessed with an amazing amount of talent, unfortunately injuries never allowed him to live up to his potential. He’ll have a hard time finding another team until he proves he can stay healthy.

From ESPN:

One source close to the situation told ESPN.com’s Marc Stein that the Portland Trail Blazers were forced to waive oft-injured center Greg Oden — selected No. 1 overall in the 2007 draft over Kevin Durant — to help create sufficient roster space to accommodate all the players Portland acquired in separate trades with New Jersey and Houston on Thursday.
