Forty-year-old heavyweight wrestler Rulon Gardner has ended his Olympic comeback bid after battling weight issues. Gardner won the gold medal in 2000, but gained nearly 200lbs after retiring. However, last year he seemingly got his life back on track after losing a ton of weight as a contestant on the NBC hit show “The Biggest Loser.”

The show inspired him to attempt an Olympic comeback and he seemed determined to contend for another medal. Unfortunately, his weight once again got the best of him.
Gardner was reportedly 25lbs over the Heavyweight limit which forced him to drop out.
