The Detroit Lions made wide receiver Calvin Johnson a very wealthy man on Wednesday. The team signed him to a 7-year extension which will make him the highest paid non-quarterback in the history of the National Football League.
An NFL source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter that the contract is worth $132 million and includes $60 million guaranteed. Johnson’s contract is the richest deal ever for an NFL wide receiver, exceeding the $120 million deal Larry Fitzgerald signed with the Arizona Cardinals last year.
While Megatron is well worth every penny of his new deal, the world can’t help but be in awe over those numbers.
