Sunny Hostin Explains That As a Black Woman in the US, Her 'Average' Has to Be Excellent

After Boston Herald columnist Wendy Murphy assured us that the lone holdout juror in the Lindsay Clancy murder case was "getting the negative attention he deserves," The View's Sunny Hostin shocked her fellow harpies by sharing how she, too, was the lone holdout juror in 1991, in the case of the Butcher of Tompkins Square Park, who killed a woman, chopped her up, boiled the body parts, and fed them to the "unhoused." Hostin was proud of keeping the killer out of prison and committed to a psychiatric facility instead, because he was obviously not guilty by reason of insanity.

Hostin's story came apart a day later, when X sleuths pulled up newspaper articles about the trial reporting that Hostin was actually upset with the holdout juror in the case, saying she believed the cannibal defendant was aware of his actions. Hostin's talent seems to be saying things on The View that drive ABC News' lawyers to force her to read "clarifications" live on air.

ABC News still hasn't booted Hostin off the show, and why should they? To hear Hostin tell it, as Michelle Obama and so many others have before, to be a black woman in the United States means that your "average" has to be excellent.

We think it already has, or at least it's begun to. Hearing a multimillionaire who continually spreads misinformation complain about the pressure to be "excellent" just isn't flying.
