As our own Just Mindy wrote in a VIP post on Thursday, California's scenery can't make up for its broken election system. We're still waiting for clear answers on who will advance as the top candidates for California governor and mayor of Los Angeles after Tuesday's primary. The latest ballot dumps have been good for Democratic Socialist Nithya Raman … so good, in fact, that Spencer Pratt didn't pick up a single vote out of some 24,000 dropped off.
Time to get election results:
— End Wokeness (@EndWokeness) June 3, 2026
🇧🇷 Brazil: 2 hours (124M ballots)
🇫🇷 France: 4 hours (34M ballots)
🇮🇳 India: 24 hours (640M ballots)
🇩🇪 Germany: 8 hours (51M ballots)
🇦🇷 Argentina: 6 hours (25M ballots)
🇺🇸 California: 37 DAYS (10M ballots)
Los Angeles County put out a post on June 3 explaining that it's taking the time to make sure every vote is counted.
Many voters choose to return their Vote by Mail ballot on Election Day. Those ballots are valid and deserve the same level of care, security, and verification as every other ballot cast in the election.

Taking the time for work ensures every eligible vote is counted accurately. pic.twitter.com/Rj5wEItimj
Many voters choose to return their Vote by Mail ballot on Election Day because California is one of those states that sends ballots to every single person on the voter rolls … even people who've moved out of state.
In case anyone was wondering that this looks like.

Bring back in-person voting in CA.
Return to special request mail-in ballots only. https://t.co/ZoFiebSVh6
Jacob Soboroff reportedly hosts his own show on weekends on MS NOW:
here we go again with the Trump stolen election bullshit. here's why California takes up to 30 days to certify election results.
— Jacob Soboroff (@jacobsoboroff) June 4, 2026
👏 so 👏 the 👏 results 👏 are 👏 fair 👏 and 👏 accurate 👏https://t.co/RYAQrPTkrs
On Thursday, the kids running Governor Newsom Press Office asked why Republicans hate that California counts every vote (even those from illegal aliens).
Why do Republicans hate that California counts every vote? https://t.co/T8oTYbpEzB
— Governor Newsom Press Office (@GovPressOffice) June 4, 2026
Because you morons take a month to do so.
— Ted Cruz (@tedcruz) June 6, 2026
In Texas, we count every vote too—and we’re almost always done…on Election Day. https://t.co/gWnruwYcRX
High tech silicon valley. Yep. Math is hard
— TexanAmericanVeteran (@TexasVet2022) June 6, 2026
We don't. We hate that you are a third world country and can't count votes in hours, or prove that voters are actually real people, real citizens, and their votes only count once.
— Just Regular Rob (@reg1776) June 5, 2026
Why does it take California weeks to count votes while third world countries count tens of millions of votes in a single day?
— Libs of TikTok (@libsoftiktok) June 5, 2026
Because we oppose vote fraud.
— Cynical Publius (@CynicalPublius) June 5, 2026
Not even Zimbabwe takes your elections seriously
— Tom Elliott (@tomselliott) June 5, 2026
Because you count them at the same speed you build high speed rail.
— Kevin - Classical Liberal 🇺🇸 (@gov_fails) June 5, 2026
Nobody hates that. What we hate is the obvious cheating.
— Jim Verdi (@jjverdi) June 5, 2026
You’re not counting votes, that only takes a few hours. So what exactly are you doing?
— Mark Taylor Expert Turkey Fryer Dude (@TurkeyFryerDude) June 6, 2026
Waa, why do Republicans hate that we count every vote?
