I used "migrant" in the headline because I have no idea if this Afghan refugee is here illegally (but I have a pretty good feeling he is). I thought I'd write about this because migrants from certain areas of the world sure seem stabby. Here's a caseworker whose job it is to resettle and assimilate migrants from Afghanistan into Michigan, and one of his cases found out his home address and went there and stabbed the guy several times.

Usually, I write about stabbings in Europe, and the United Kingdom knows it has a problem with knife crime (they even have bins around London where you can deposit any sharp objects you own so they don't fall into the wrong hands). Just yesterday, I came across this:
JUST IN - Afghan man (28) attacked a daycare group with toddlers in Aschaffenburg, Germany. A little boy (2) and a man (41) were killed. Another child and a nanny were also injured, according to local media.

Huh. Another Afghan man. I couldn't find much from Google, but the attack was a stabbing, and they guy did kill a 2-year-old.
DW reports:
A 28-year-old suspect, who police say is from Afghanistan, has been taken into custody. Another person who witnessed the attack is also being held for questioning, but was not suspected of wrongdoing.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said the attack was "an unbelievable act of terror" and offered his sympathies to the victims' families and those who were injured.
"I am sick of seeing such acts of violence occurring in our country every few weeks, by perpetrators who have actually come here to find protection here," he said.
Reuters reported that "The suspect, who had a history of violent behaviour, was undergoing psychiatric treatment. He had had his asylum process closed and said he would voluntarily leave Germany in December, but had not left and remained under treatment."
The BBC reports that conservative opposition leader Friedrich Merz "promised in effect to close Germany's borders to all irregular migrants, including those with a right to protection" following the murders.
These two stories reminded me of a post I did last June about … a migrant from Afghanistan who killed a police officer by stabbing him several times in the head. The attack happened at a "far-right" rally in Mannheim, Germany, to “educate about political Islam.”
So I keep reading about men from Afghanistan stabbing people. I'm sure it's just a coincidence, but Afghans seem really stabby. Is there some connection?
Back in December of 2023, a man died and two others were injured when a man who was "upset about the situation in Gaza" stabbed them. The report didn't say where he was from, but he did yell "Allahu Akbar" during the attack. Reports were also unclear about an Algerian-born migrant who stabbed three children and a school worker in Dublin, Ireland that same month. (So not an Afghan … it's best not to assume.)
It's a good thing Elon Musk didn't comment on these last two stabbing attacks by Afghan men or "Good Morning Britain" host Narinder Kaur would accuse him of calling for race riots again, as he did by calling attention to the Pakistani grooming gang scandal. She said "again," referring to the 2024 "far-right" riots in Britain after three little girls under the age of 10 at a Taylor Swift-themed dance camp were stabbed to death.
I bookmarked this last week but never got around to it. Apparently this was controversial.

I know, I'm Islamophobic and xenophobic. I need to remember you can be stabbed by an American citizen on the New York subway just as well as by an illegal immigrant. It was the illegal immigrant who set the woman on fire. I'll try to do better.
Afghan men do seem awfully stabby, though.
