There are at least three right-wing bogeymen that the Left warns will be the end of America and democracy as we know it. First, there's white supremacy, although that has kind of lost its bite from overuse. Then they switched to Christian nationalism — that was the biggest problem facing the country. The third, which has been hanging around for several years now, is disinformation. The Biden administration even put together a short-lived Disinformation Governance Board to tackle the problem.
Elon Musk is interviewing Donald Trump on X as I write this (I'm trying to get in but X is jammed with 192,000 people). As I wrote before, CNN is worried that Musk, who's endorsed Trump, will allow a stream of lies and disinformation.
A reporter at today's White House press briefing was also worried about the spread of disinformation and asked press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre if there was some way the White House could intervene.

They restarted at 8:30 and immediately shot to more than 600,000 listeners.
