Hey look, it's another liberal trying to turn down the temperature after someone tried to assassinate Donald Trump and just about succeeded. Jeff Trimmer says in his bio that he's a senior advisor at the Lincoln Project, which is pretty brave to admit, as most people have distanced themselves from that trainwreck.
He makes a compelling argument, though:

I'm old enough to remember when Mitt Romney was the greatest threat Americans had ever faced. He was going to "put y'all back in chains" and ban tampons and kill Big Bird. (Ah, the memories.)
I remember during President Trump's term that he was a puppet of Vladimir Putin, a Russian agent, and a loose cannon whose mean tweets were going to start a nuclear war with North Korea. And yet we had no new wars. Russia wasn't parading its fleet of warships and a nuclear-powered submarine around Cuba. We weren't spending hundreds of billions on a proxy war with a nuclear power. But I suppose the existential threat of climate change went ignored.
Now we have a sitting congressman, Bill Pascrell, Jr., repeatedly posting that if he "seizes power" by winning the election, Trump will command the military to put tanks in the streets. Look, he even had a staffer put together a Photoshop composite of what America will look like under a second Trump term:

Timmer says he's an erstwhile Republican like the rest of the Never Trumpers at the Lincoln Project. They're trying to conserve conservatism by electing Kamala Harris after voting for Joe Biden and Democrats straight down the ticket.
