Subscription TV service Hulu is doing something called #Huluween, which might or might not involve viewers sending in photos of themselves wearing costumes. That’s the only reason we can think of for Hulu to remind everyone to wear something culturally appropriate so that everyone can enjoy their made-up holiday.
If you're dressing up for #Huluween this year, this is your reminder to wear a costume that is culturally appropriate and respectful to others. Let's celebrate the holiday in a way that we can all enjoy.

I’m going as a preachy social media intern asshat. https://t.co/UMcLRt22ly

I’m going as 1/1024th Native American.

I've been sewing that costume for months …and you just tweet it out

I’m going as your mom before the syph made her crazy.

If I put on a cheap sombrero and kimono while wearing blackface, the appropriations all cancel each other out.

Simple math really

there is still time to get your #Beto costume for #Huluween . pic.twitter.com/hcxdgEAz79

I’m going to dress up as an annoying entertainment platform that tells people what to do as opposed to just sticking to what I know-providing entertainment. Cool?
— Dr. Rocki McRockiface (@rockiwithani) October 17, 2018
Considering going as a former Hulu subscriber. That respectful enough for you?
— moodyredhead (@moodyredhead) October 17, 2018
I'm dressing up as a bad app that freezes all the time and plays the same 2 ads over and over. @Hulu should be flattered.
— Pete Lynch (@p8rlynch) October 17, 2018
Here's a pumpkin full of nope.
— Polkabecky (@polkabecky) October 17, 2018
Lol should have kept their mouth shut for #huluween
— ❌ShaneDillon❌??? (@ShaneDillonSr) October 17, 2018
Reminder: Halloween is a secular holiday that was culturally appropriated from the Western Christian liturgical Holy Day "All Hallows' Eve," and nobody cares. https://t.co/z158YTNjw9
— Stephen Herreid (@StephenHerreid) October 17, 2018
I pay you to provide me with a service, not lecture me on cultural appropriation.
Technically, since I'm paying you, I should be telling you what to wear/not wear for #Huluween.
You shall dress up as the person who provides my family with the services we pay for.
That is all. https://t.co/15dhm9ILIZ
— Sagacious Guy (@RealSagacity) October 17, 2018
Well in that case only Celts should celebrate this holiday, otherwise it's cultural appropriation.
While we're at it only the poor can trick or treat, dancing & singing in costume begging for money & food. If we want to be historically accurate.
— JP (@Jonathan_Packer) October 17, 2018
Orrrrrr…..we can exercise personal freedom and do whatever the heck we want and say screw you to anyone who thinks they have cultural authority to police others. Mind your business and let others do what they wish, without having a hissy fit.
— JP (@Jonathan_Packer) October 17, 2018
::makes a note not to use Hulu after I cancel my cable TV::
— Dave (@TooOldToBeCool) October 17, 2018
This is why “Hulu and chill” isn’t a thing
— Matt Palumbo (@MattPalumbo12) October 17, 2018
Hulu has no chill.
