Stephen Colbert doesn't seem to think there's been talk about gun control

Stephen Colbert seems to be in a competition with Jimmy Kimmel as to which allegedly funny TV host can pivot to serious political pundit and more quickly suck all the fun out of life.

Kimmel seems to have the advantage here, having been deemed the “conscience” of late-night TV, whereas Colbert is still stuck in that trying-to-be-funny-yet-serious zone. Exhibit 1:

Here’s a compromise: maybe the Democrats could get serious about what, exactly, it is that they want to enact as law — which means saying more than “it’s time to have a conversation” or “we need to take action.” And it certainly means more than holding a catered sit-in on the House floor and singing “We Shall Overcome.” That’s a tantrum, not a conversation.
