Bernie Sanders' revolutionary friend fires tear gas at protesters chanting for food

As Twitchy reported Thursday, Bernie Sanders received a ringing endorsement from Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, who has referred to the Vermont socialist as his “revolutionary friend.”

In the meantime, Reuters reports that a group of women gathered near the presidential palace in Caracas to join in a chant of, “We want food!” Why wouldn’t America want to emulate that sort of economic progress?

“Critics say Venezuela’s economic chaos is the consequence of failed socialist policies for the last 17 years, especially price and currency controls,” Reuters adds.

So, America isn’t next in line? That’s some relief.

Sanders doesn’t really want full-blown socialism in the United States, does he? He’d just like to see a little less income inequality, using Venezuela as a model.
