Demonstrators are marching in the streets again tonight to protest both the shooting of black teen Laquan McDonald 16 times by Officer Jason Van Dyke, now charged with first-degree murder, and the 13-month delay in bringing charges against the officer. Protesters in Chicago have promised to disrupt Black Friday shopping along Michigan Avenue as well.
New York City’s streets were filled with protesters tonight who held a rally and march in solidarity with protesters in Chicago and Minneapolis, where witnesses claim that Jamar Clark was shot in the head by police after being handcuffed during an assault call.
Classic cat & mouse game between 200 #BlackLivesMatter activists & #NYPD I've seen at least 6 arrests as protest winds thru the village

New York Times columnist Charles M. Blow, reporting from Chicago, found just the opposite.
Police operating w very light touch tonight. Moving on bicycles. Have seen a few ppl taunt them. No response what so ever… #LaquanMcDonald

He also found it particularly interesting that a group of protesters stopped in front of Trump Tower.
Protesters march to Trump Tower and stop to chant in front of building. Hmmm, interesting location… pic.twitter.com/S5MFE5P5LD
