In May, the New York Times published a number of emails between former Clinton White House adviser Sidney Blumenthal and then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that were sent to the very unofficial address “[email protected].” The emails, uncovered by Judicial Watch, showed Blumenthal advising Clinton on Libya around the time of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks that killed four Americans. The House Benghazi panel subpoenaed Blumenthal to testify in June.
Blumenthal appeared before a closed-door session of the committee today, as did Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), former House Oversight Chairman. Issa’s impromptu visit lasted only about a minute or so though, reports The Hill’s Martin Matishak.

Issa stormed off in a huff after Gowdy escorted him out. Slammed an empty soda can into the nearest trash can. With authority, as they say.

Matishak reports further:
Gowdy said it was “noteworthy” that no congressional inquiry into the deadly 2012 siege at a U.S. compound in Libya had uncovered the memos between Blumenthal and the 2016 Democratic presidential candidate, including the roughly 60 Blumenthal produced late last week.

We’d still like an answer to Monica Crowley’s question asked back in May: “What was the Clintons’ hatchet man really doing?” Is today the day we find out?
Update: Here’s some Zapruder-looking footage of the encounter from NBC’s Frank Thorp.
