Too late: Gov. Jay Nixon sends late night tweet: 'Let's keep #Ferguson safe tonight'

Minutes after reports of tear gas being deployed in Ferguson hit Twitter, Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon issued a late night tweet asking Ferguson to “show the world that we can protest peacefully and passionately.” The message was, obviously, received too late by those demonstrators hurling bottles at police.
