Composer Marvin Hamlisch, whose music for stage and screen earned him three Oscars, four Grammys, four Emmys, a Tony, three Golden Globes and the Pulitzer Prize, died today at 68 of an unspecified illness.

Hamlisch is best known for his contributions to the film “The Way We Were” and the Broadway musical “A Chorus Line.”
