Since we spend all day on Twitter, we occasionally run across the person who still believes Donald Trump’s “pee-pee tape” is real … didn’t VICE give Tom Arnold a show called “The Search for the Trump Tapes”? That search didn’t go very far.
When BuzzFeed’s Ben Smith published the Steele dossier in its entirety, we remember one journalist asking her colleagues on Twitter who’d also received the dossier. It turns out it was shopped around widely, but most reporters took a pass because there was no way of verifying any of the claims. They recognized it as opposition research and ignored it.
Glenn Greenwald draws our attention to a new Harris-Harvard poll that shows that the corporate media’s attempts at dismissing news as “disinformation” isn’t working. All of the “right-wing conspiracy theories” have come true, and Americans know it:
A newly released Harris-Harvard poll conclusively demonstrates how radically out of touch is liberal corporate media with the views of Americans.
It's not just that corporate media rejects Americans' views. They don't permit those views to be heard.https://t.co/Lor6QSUnl6

To start:
Majorities of Americans say it's *false* that Trump colluded with Russia. The the Steele Dossier is also "false."
In other words, they view the story the US media aggressively centered for 3 years as a hoax and a fraud, yet NBC and CNN won't even air this view. pic.twitter.com/wqULHK4Rd9

Americans also believe that the materials on the Hunter Biden laptop are real, and are not and never were "Russian disinformation."
So again, Americans view the claim that the US corporate media and CIA spread for weeks before the 2020 election – to help Biden win – as a fraud. pic.twitter.com/aPYmU4jqyz

Even 41 percent of Democrats say the Hunter Biden laptop is real.
Majorties of Americans also believe:
* Hunter Biden engaged in criminal influence peddling using his father's name.
* The FBI is not investigating these crimes.
* Joe Biden participated in Hunter's illegal influence peddling and profiteering schemes. pic.twitter.com/HJP4sSfogw

“Ten percent for the Big Guy.”
*Large majorities* of Americans say they are not surprised to learn the FBI abused it power in the 2016 Trum/Russia probe to help Biden.
*Large majorities* also say they are deeply worried about the US Security State's manipulation of US politics, and sweeping reform is needed. pic.twitter.com/io4ifiq4aV

The Twitter files and the Durham report have really destroyed any credibility the FBI had left.
Large majorities of Americans have serious doubts about Biden's mental fitness to be President, and believe he is too old.
Unsurprisingly, then, Trump leads Biden by 7 points for 2024, and Kamala Harris by 11 points.
Can the media be more out-of-touch? pic.twitter.com/UypeQhYmvG

The Daily Beast even ran a piece entitled, “Joe Biden Is Old. Deal With It.”
The 3 political figures who are viewed most favorably by Americans are Elon Musk, Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis (Berne is next).
Musk has by far the highest favorability gap (+14). AOC's is -13, Mitch McConnell -24.
Tim Scott and Vivek are +7. pic.twitter.com/NpKB6l4ZKB

Only 40% of Dem voters say they intend to vote for Biden *in the Dem primary."
For whatever reason, the poll excluded the challenger near 20%: RFK, Jr.
But even many Dems say Biden lacks mental fitness and they don't want to vote for him. pic.twitter.com/dynoAw045M

What's so striking here isn't that the corporate media relentlessly advocates views and ideologies that majorities of Americans – often large majorities – reject.
It's that the views held by majorities are all but banned on NBC, CNN, NYT and WPost. Thus, this is not a mystery: pic.twitter.com/Xm3lh0HUzv

Americans are concerned about Biden’s age … but then the opinion columnists at the Washington Post and the New York Times explain why you shouldn’t be concerned. It never occurs to them that the majority of Americans might be right. That’s the reason they call them “flyover states,” right?
