We were a little hesitant when we first saw tweets suggesting that the Covenant School shooter, who killed six people Monday in Nashville, was trans. But then the police confirmed it, apparently from the shooter’s manifesto. Those transphobic Tennessee cops still referred to Audrey Hall as a woman in their presser, though.
Thankfully, USA TODAY cleared it all up:
Police on Monday afternoon said that the shooter was a transgender man. Officials had initially misidentified the gender of the shooter.
