As Twitchy reported earlier, Spotify has reportedly begun removing Neil Young’s music from its streaming service after Young wrote a letter including an ultimatum: Spotify could either have his music or Joe Rogan’s podcast, but not both. We haven’t heard from Sally Kohn in a while, but she’s hoping that “the ensuing outrage” over Spotify sticking with Rogan will provoke some change.
We’ve been on Twitter all day and we’re not seeing the outrage.
This was Neil’s idea. Not Spotify’s.

It's exactly what he asked for. What's the problem.

Or you could just buy Neil Young’s catalog of music on iTunes and listen to them at your leisure without having to pay a monthly subscription to Spotify…

Neil Young has been spreading anti-scientific theories about GMOs for years, GMOs that have saved millions of lives too..

The Daily Beast just did a piece on Young’s “long legacy of spreading scientific misinformation,” touching on his concept album “The Monsanto Years.”

Neil gave spotify the ultimatum, not the other way around. They made their choice. Turns out old hippies are expendable.

Narrator: And there was no outrage..
— Seoul Man (@Monkey3ddd) January 27, 2022
Um yeah, toots. This was Neil's idea. Spotify just helped move it along.

Joe Rogan has never mentioned Neil Young. Young was looking for some relevance and Spotify called his bluff. Good riddance. Lynyrd Skynyrd was right all along.

Neil Young is no longer on Spotify because of Neil Young, not Joe Rogan.

This was the easiest business decision Spotify will ever make.

His label continued to demand Spotify not host his catalogue. What’s the issue? Spotify is not being vindictive. They wanted to include his music and Neil Young said no.

The lack of self awareness on the part of journalists and artists who want other journalists and artists silenced is mind boggling.

This is perfection. Tantrums are for toddlers, not old men.
Way to go, Spotify.

What I love about Twitter is all the stupid people outing themselves over free speech. God bless and may you see the light of freedom.

Why you so twisted up Karen? Neil Young sucks. He gambled and lost big time. It happens.
