The blue-checks in the media have been giving us plenty of hot takes after Republicans swept Virginia Tuesday night, but 90 percent of them seem to come down to racism, white supremacy, “whiteness” — whatever you want to call it. Even the fact they voted for a black lieutenant governor and a Latino attorney general is no evidence whatsoever that white supremacy won the night. Not to mention the racist dog-whistling about critical race theory, which isn’t real, but which liberal TV pundits defend whenever the subject comes up.
We thought we’d leave the blue-check zone for a bit and check in with Morgan Kilday, who’s getting a lot of her traction for this hot take:
White women vote to protect their white sons. That's it.
— Morgan Kilday (@kilday_morgan) November 3, 2021
Wait, that’s not it.
If you're mad about this I'm talking to you. Stay mad.

This is great. Please keep going with this argument. Should be fun to watch.
— M. Lalala (@mommalalala) November 3, 2021
You have a problem with this?
— Katie Scarlet (@Katiescarlet2) November 3, 2021
If they have a black, Hispanic, or Asian son they’ll vote to protect them too Morgan – that’s how the whole mom thing works
— Vegito Main Lives Matter (@J_Weenus) November 3, 2021
So next time they shouldn’t mess with their kids.
— Hernan Cortes (@CyberPunkCortes) November 3, 2021
Isn't that why… people vote?
To protect their family?
— The Enclave Chad 🇺🇸 (@Nerva3D) November 3, 2021
Of course we do. And our daughters. That’s normal.

— Mockingbird (@20_mockingbird) November 3, 2021
I would wager Asian, Hispanic and Black mothers think the same
— Me Chomper (@chmpr) November 3, 2021
Hi, dad here. I also vote to protect my son as well. Thought you should know it's more than just moms! 👋
— 🐃 🦃 👑 (@BuffSausageKing) November 3, 2021
Don’t all moms of all colors protect their sons? pic.twitter.com/zEQ993vblx

I’m just here for the ratio pic.twitter.com/kQr5EE2JzX
— Gulag Inmate 47201 (@Chuckrapp73) November 3, 2021
I can't think of anything better than voting for our children and grandchildren.
— Dazed and Confused (@lewellen_husker) November 3, 2021
So what if someone said "black women vote to protect their black sons"…would that be weird? In reality we should vote for individual freedom because that it the most important issue.
— Gracie4258 (@Tradergracie) November 3, 2021
is this supposed to be a bad thing?
— Jill DEMONIC ENTITY SLAYER McBain (@bee_ghoul) November 3, 2021
Taking bets that this is (as it almost always is) a classic case of projection.
— Socratic Sandpiper (@SocraticSand) November 3, 2021
1. Oh no! Not that…
2. Please continue playing this card for the next 3 years.

I’m so sorry that happened to you
— Daniel Kretchman (@lookoutpoint69) November 3, 2021
Good for them.
— Mike (@CrossisSteady) November 3, 2021
I believe that’s what is called being a responsible parent.🤷♂️
— S 🇺🇸 Ellis (@SteveMEllis) November 3, 2021
I'm confused. That is a good thing, literally their only purpose. But from your profile I assume you're trying to insinuate that that is somehow bad???
— jake smith (@jake8randomnums) November 3, 2021
Who do the black women vote for?
— hellbilly elegy (@hellbilly_elegy) November 3, 2021
Quite the profound thought you have there. Also water is wet in case you didn’t know.
— Steven (@StevenT1025) November 3, 2021
Imagine that, people care about their children.
— Dominar Travis I of Cascadia 🇨🇦 (@stoicynic) November 3, 2021
I'm not sure I understand your point, are you saying parents protecting their children is a uniquely white thing? And therefore morally wrong?
— Small Metal Owl (@SmallMetalOwl) November 3, 2021
The horror. Mothers protecting their offspring like it's been since ever.
— Laure Soler (@laurelanuit) November 3, 2021
Heaven forbid mothers vote to protect their children.
— It’s Meseidy | New Podcast "It's Meseidy" (@itsmeseidy) November 3, 2021
Not true. I also vote to protect my white daughter.
— Stella Maris 🇺🇸 🇺🇸🇺🇸 (@marystarsea) November 3, 2021
Are you implying non-white parents wouldn’t?
— NH (@TwoQuoque) November 3, 2021
Interesting choice condemning parents for wanting to vote to protect their children but by all means, do continue on this track. Antagonize Mama Bear at your own peril
— The Prickly Ambivert (@BillDost) November 3, 2021
Good for them. Doing their duty as mothers.
— EmSeCee (@EmCeecee44) November 3, 2021
Is this a criticism?
— CH (@Hab514) November 3, 2021
Was that supposed to be a diss? 😂
— Stuck in the Middle (@StucknDaMid) November 3, 2021
And thats a bad thing because?
— Kunt (@ryolawliet) November 3, 2021
So you have a problem with parents caring about their kids? Weird flex but ok.
— Cameron Richeson (@CamRicheson) November 3, 2021
This post landed well 😂
— Michael (@DomskyMike) November 3, 2021
Thank you for tweeting this. It will ensure you guys keep losing. 🥰
— Tracy Trace (@Tracyfalling) November 3, 2021
Can’t imagine why suburban moms who voted for Biden turned around a year later and elected a Republican governor.
I laugh at this and your absurdity. 😂🤪
— KarmaB (@KarmaB74) November 3, 2021
Your tears are delicious
— Jay Baumgartner (@LCBaum) November 3, 2021
You seem to be admitting there’s something to protect them from. Interesting.
— Peach (@Peach3006) November 3, 2021
