SAD: Reporter estimates a crowd of about 2,000 at Joe Biden's kickoff rally

Things could be a lot worse — Joe Biden could be holding his campaign rally in someone’s living room like New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, who also just announced his campaign, against the wishes of everyone except perhaps his wife.

To be fair, though, this is Biden’s official kickoff rally in Philadelphia, and Karl Baker of the News Journal in Delaware estimates the crowd at about 2,000.

That’s not too bad, actually, but also consider this guy is the front runner in every poll, yet even Pete Buttigieg is managing to draw around 600 people at a routine campaign stop.

Biden might have a little more work to do on the campaign trail that he thought; progressives have already written him off as an old white guy who believes there’s a “middle ground” when approaching climate change.

We’re really curious to see … he’s leading all the polls, but how much of that is due to name recognition alone? Nobody had heard of Buttigieg before, and he climbed up into the serious contender ranks.

“We need to let them know who we are?” Dude, you were vice president for eight years; you’re the guy who compulsively sniffs women’s hair.

The media loved Kamala Harris for a few days there before they dropped her like a hot rock. Who does CNN want to win the nomination? Guess we’ll find out soon enough.
