We’re not big fans of Debbie Wasserman Schultz, but we have to give the former DNC chair credit for calling out anti-Semitism in her party and calling out Rep. Ilhan Omar by name while doing it, something the House Democrats failed to do in their resolution:
Sadly, misunderstandings over anti-Semitic, hurtful comments continue, as does hateful Islamaphobic rhetoric. Dialogue leads to understanding. @IlhanMN, repeated misunderstandings would seem to require dialogue to avoid repetitive harm.
— Debbie Wasserman Schultz (@DWStweets) March 4, 2019
Communication is the key to understanding. I hope you agree and will engage so tensions do not worsen.
— Debbie Wasserman Schultz (@DWStweets) March 4, 2019
Wasserman Schultz’s tweets didn’t go over so well with a lot of people, both with conservatives and the #StandWithIlhan crowd.
I used to think you were stupid but now I see you're genuinely evil
— Ron Coleman (@RonColeman) March 4, 2019
Are you saying she's too stupid to know what she's doing?!
— BossyRobynn (@Robynn9436) March 4, 2019
It's nice of you to extend the olive branch, but these are no slips of the tongue. Her history & beliefs are very clear. How long can people pretend otherwise?
— Boris_Badenoff (@Boris_Badenoff) March 4, 2019
Her tweet really set off actor David Cross, best known for “Arrested Development” and a bunch of shows that aired on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim programming block well after you went to bed.
You rapacious moldering hollow husk of a person. Your knowingly cynical disingenuous pandering bullshit take helps no one. You are morally bankrupt and (quite literally) personify everything that's wrong with American politics. Your name will be taught in future history classes. https://t.co/69OtNOBwlB

The fact that @DWStweets isn’t in prison right now illustrates how truly broken our system is.

I want to hug you so bad after reading this tweet.

You'd think neocons would be smarter than this. Why are Democrats talking just like the GOP regarding @IlhanMN ? This pro AIPAC and pro occupation is not just a Republican thing. What's going on in congress?
— Aria Ahrary (@aria_ahrary) March 4, 2019
Congress en mass are misrepresenting who Semites are. It's not a secret. All of their outrage is phony. They realise the gullibility of the people & use it to protect their golden goose and the Zionist pirate base. They wield America's ignorance & prejudice like a sword
— Dayglo Pharoah (@kingfrook) March 4, 2019
So, what did she do that was so awful? Not clearly enough condem anti-semitism?
— Joshua Kessler (@JoshuaKessler1) March 4, 2019
Are you… upset with DWS because her calling out of Omar's undeniable anti-Semitism isn't strong *enough*?
— Spratface (@Spratlinger) March 4, 2019
We’re pretty sure that’s not it.
But she's not wrong.
