We know a lot of you will think this post is just stupid, but consider it an appetizer for the true awards season, when President Trump and the GOP will be bashed at the Oscars, the Golden Globes, the People’s Choice Awards, etc.
Earlier this week was the 2018 Game Awards, recognizing excellence in video gaming (or esports if you like to call it that). Esports player of the year went to SonicFox, who decided to end his acceptance speech by saying, “I’m gay, black, a furry — pretty much everything a Republican hates — and the best esports player of the year, I guess.”
Dang … even the video game community is using its awards ceremonies to trash-talk Republicans, most of whom probably weren’t aware there was even such an awards ceremony or that a young gay black man who dresses as a blue fox represents everything they hate.

In case your feelings are hurt in retrospect, McLean tweeted after the awards that he doesn’t really hate Republicans … it’s just that he’d be conflicted if he had the Infinity Gauntlet from “Avengers: Infinity War” and could wish them out of existence with a snap of his fingers.
Now I don’t REAAALLY hate republicans, that’s a strong word! But if I had the Thanos glove I mean.. wyd???

I’m a big fan of yours love watching you on the sticks but this was a little unnecessary not all of us are terrible people
— Jerry Johnson (@JerseyXJerry) December 8, 2018
Not a fan of his, never have been, never will be. Find a new idol, imo. This kind of rhetoric being spread over a large fan base is toxic af

Jesus dude

I see a lot of people congratulating you for basically saying you would kill every republican. But I’m here on the republican be half. We don’t hate you for being gay black or a furry. Do you and don’t spread hate and shit like this dude.

I don't like where this is going.

Contemplating mass politicide to own the cons
— John W (@johnW_ret) December 8, 2018
All that talk of hating intolerance and now you say you want to kill people who disagree with you? I can think of a few other people in history who had that reasoning that as well.

My dad's a republican.
I love my dad though.
Please don't kill my dad ;-;— XaviShinx ? (@ShinxXavi) December 8, 2018
As someone who is left leaving I'd say generalizing an entire political party based on the actions of a vocal few is kinda dangerous, not all Republicans voted for Trump and they don't have to agree with every other member of the party.
— Anta baka?! (@megaweebloser) December 8, 2018
funny how a member of the group that is all about accepting each other no matter what wants to kill off all republicans sounds like you are really accepting of others….lol.
— Mad Man Matrix (@MADMANMATRIX) December 8, 2018
Just no.
You'd think that being a minority you'd understand the harshness of generalization.
Imagine if every person that wasn't a furry suddenly decided to snap you out of existence.
There are 7.5 bil on the planet.
Only 1.4 mil are averaged to be furries.Do the math.

So with the generalizations:
Republicans: Ended Slavery
Republicans: First to have a black politicianDemocrats: Forced Fugitive Slave Law
Democrats: Founders of the KKKWe <3 you but if you have the time, you can use those same skills to study these truths

This is inappropriate. C'mon, man. You go around reminding the country that you are a member of 3 oppressed communities who persevered through that hatred to rise up and become an icon of gaming. Now you're using your fame to generalize and oppress others.

I think your letting this award get to your head. This is… More than uncalled for.
— *-Boxed-In-* (@BuruKinoko) December 8, 2018
You know, this vitriol directed against the right is part of how @realDonaldTrump got elected. Do y'all on the left REALLY want to see how the right tops that?
— Softpaws (@KitsuneSoftpaws) December 8, 2018
Not commit a genocide against millions of people for sharing beliefs that may or may not align with yours but are still at large decent folk, is what I would do.
— Cerasifera (@cerasifera) December 8, 2018
Like we said, whether you’re into esports or not, consider it a warmup for the Oscars and realize now that everyone hates you.
