Democrat Stacey Abrams has been counting on a mandatory recount or the discovery of some extra votes in the Georgia gubernatorial race, but it looks like the Brian Kemp campaign is claiming victory, even if the AP hasn’t called the race yet.

There are “at least” 77,000 votes to be counted? And Abrams would still need two-thirds to force a runoff?
The Resurgent’s Erick Erickson is calling it for Kemp:
Brian Kemp is going to be Governor of Georgia without a runoff. He won fair and square. The media badly misreported the voter issues in Georgia and helped foment a progressive grievance built on a lie. But there's an issue the GOP must pay attention to 1/3
— Erick Erickson (@EWErickson) November 7, 2018
Kemp built up his out of Atlanta margins by being very pro-Trump. But he lost a significant portion of voters in the metro-Atlanta area because of being so pro-Trump. That impacted a congressional race and state legislative races. 2/3
— Erick Erickson (@EWErickson) November 7, 2018
It wound up being a good strategy for Kemp and he will be an awesome governor. But Republicans are really going to have to think carefully of just how much they want to be in the President's shadow. Suburban voters who tend to vote Republican clearly do not like Trump. 3/3
— Erick Erickson (@EWErickson) November 7, 2018
We haven’t heard any official calls, but Erickson insists it’s over.
The race is called in Georgia. Brian Kemp will be the next Governor.
— Erick Erickson (@EWErickson) November 7, 2018
There are outstanding provisional ballots in Georgia. If they went 100% for Stacey Abrams, Kemp would still be above 50%. The race is over.
— Erick Erickson (@EWErickson) November 7, 2018
Stay tuned for Abrams’ concession, which we doubt we’ll be hearing anytime today.
