Twitchy has already had several posts on conservatives who have said it sets a bad precedent for Disney to fire director James Gunn from “Guardians of the Galaxy 3,” even though some media outlets are blaming the “alt-right” for getting him fired by unearthing some old, unfunny, and disgusting tweets.
Conservatives aren’t going to get credit for defending free speech in any case, but liberals will applaud themselves, seeing how they’ve gotten things twisted around to the point they think Disney is punishing people critical of President Trump — which is idiotic, seeing as the whole mess started when actor/director Mark Duplass suggested fellow liberals follow Ben Shapiro, who’s been very critical of Trump.
In any case, things got real Sunday, when comedian Bobcat Goldthwait, who voiced a minor character in Disney’s “Hercules,” said on Instagram he suggested his be voice removed from an upcoming Disney attraction.

Goldthwaite said in a caption of a photo of him with Gunn, “I’d hate to make you guys look bad seeing that I’m openly critical of the president and his administration, and you seem to be taking your lead from some of his radical fringe supporters.”
Like we said. Liberals destroyed one of their own for saying something nice about Ben Shapiro and now it’s all about Disney taking its cues from Trump’s “radical fringe supporters.”
Goldthwait then recommended that Disney take a look at some of James Wood’s old tweets — Woods also voiced a character in “Hercules.”

I love @jamesgunn. He’s a loyal friend, super talented, passionate and kind. I wanted to say something, here it is: Dear @disney, I would hate for you to come off as hypocritical so I’m suggesting that you remove my voice from an attraction that’s coming to your park. It’s called WORLD OF COLOR – VILLAINOUS, and I reprise the role of Pain, a role I played in HERCULES. You see here’s the deal, years ago I made a lot of sarcastically shocking and offensive jokes. Many that I’m embarrassed about now, and I’d hate to make you guys look bad seeing that I’m openly critical of the president and his administration, and you seem to be taking your lead from some of his radical fringe supporters. I think James Woods may have recorded a voice for this new attraction, too. Why not check out some of his whacky past tweets?! They’re a hoot! For the record I do stand with survivors of sexual abuse and I was wondering if you guys are still making money off of your movie POWDER? Asking for a friend. Thanks, Bobcat
This whole thing has become, as some conservatives warned, a back-and-forth scalp hunt with no end-game in sight. Was Disney wrong to fire Gunn? His old “jokes” about pedophilia and child rape were not a good look for the company, to be sure — but don’t forget which mob started this pile-on.
